Do you wish you could stop needing something just to feel normal?
Reliance on binge-eating, drinking alcohol, smoking cigarettes, or taking other drugs (prescription or illegal) is shockingly common.
Many people need to have these things, among others, just to make things seem OK for a while.
Whatever the reliance, an addiction can wreak havoc on your finances, health, relationships, self-esteem and career.
I’ve tried to stop, but…
Have you found yourself going to bed with a determined resolution, or waking up with the best of intentions, only to be thwarted by the end of the day?
Something – some event, intrusive thought or indefinable drive – trips you up and you turn to that substance or habit to help you through the moment.
The pattern can lead to feelings of shame, which in turn makes an addiction harder to shake.
What can’t you give up?
Some addictions are famously damaging (e.g. heroin, alcohol and smoking), while others can be more subtle (e.g. sugar, gambling and shopping).
- Drugs (including over-the-counter or prescription)
- Fizzy/soft drinks
- Junk food
- ….something else?
Curing an addiction
The good news is, addictions can be cured.
For this, I use RTT, a multi award-winning therapy.
And it can take place quickly!
Simple ‘comfort’ addictions (such as chocolate) can usually be cured in one session; smoking in one-two sessions, alcohol in between one and three sessions, and drug addictions in about three sessions.
For more complex and deep-rooted issues, you can benefit from an RTT and coaching package.
This is because when a big part of your life is gone, no matter how damaging it was, it can hard to imagine what comes next. Coaching can help you move on in the way that’s best for you and your life.
Arrange a free call with me to discuss your needs and we’ll take it from there.
