As a healthy and fairly fit person, and after many miles of training, I took on the Jersey Round Island walk and made it to the finish, but it was a struggle at the end and I was hungry for carbs at every rest stop on the route.
Two years later, I attempted the same walk but, with Jacqui’s help and advice, I changed my diet before and during the event. With less training, I not only completed the walk almost two hours faster, but I was able to run the last few hundred metres. I still had food left over and didn’t need to eat at the final rest stop. I felt fitter on the day and recovered more quickly after the event.
I have no doubt that Jacqui’s nutritional guidance made the difference for me and that it can help other people just as much – whether they are tackling a major event or just wanting to improve their general health and wellbeing.
